Redesign of the San Marco restaurant website in Seville
San Marco Santa Cruz is an Italian restaurant in the heart of Seville, inside 12th-century baths. We already handled its SEO; now we redesigned the whole website, moved it from WordPress to custom code and kept every Google ranking.

01The challenge
12th-century baths with a template website
The previous WordPress site built with Elementor didn't match the place and had technical issues holding back its SEO.
- In Lighthouse mobile tests, the menu page took up to 11 seconds to show its main content.
- The menu and the Christmas menus were images: Google could not read the dishes.
- Half-done French and Chinese translations, and badly translated Italian URLs.
- 263 images without alt text.
The design had to change completely without losing a single Google ranking.
02Our strategy
San Marco's guest book
The site tells nine centuries of the building's history, from the 12th-century baths to the restaurant's opening in 1991, as a guest book that you sign today.
- Classic luxury: burgundy gradients and the gold and silver of the logo itself.
- Gilda Display, Pinyon Script, Spectral and Hanken Grotesk, all open-licence typefaces.
- The real logo, vectorised, and real photos of the restaurant.
- Large images and smooth transitions.
A website that feels like walking into the restaurant.
03The solution
A website in 5 languages, from menu to booking
We designed and built the whole site in Spanish, English, Italian, French and Chinese.
- A home page with video and a guest book whose pages turn in 3D, with an index by century.
- A text menu with 302 dishes and an allergen filter.
- A cocktail menu, group menus and Christmas menus.
- CoverManager bookings in every language.
- Gift cards with online payment and an automatic personalised PDF.
- A gallery of arches, 3D dining rooms and a contact page designed as a walk from the Giralda.
- A cookie banner and analytics only with consent.
Everything designed so visitors end up booking a table.
04The result
Faster, with all the SEO intact
In Lighthouse mobile tests, the home page went from 66 to 96 points and the menu from 52 to 98. We kept all 210 URLs in 5 languages with their titles, descriptions and hreflang, with over 1,000 one-hop redirects, 242 alt texts fixed and restaurant, menu and event structured data.
