Backstage: a proposal for running concerts from your phone
Backstage is a KENSHO proposal, not a finished project: the dashboard we imagined for a concert promoter to keep every date in one place and change them with a Telegram message. It grew out of our website proposal for Riff, and it is shown here with invented artists, venues and figures.
- Proposal
- Custom system
- Automation
01The challenge
A tour is many dates changing at once
A promoter moves many concerts at the same time. One date sells out, another is postponed, and a venue only holds a day until a deadline. If every change goes through scattered messages and spreadsheets, the information arrives late.
- The website keeps sending people to buy tickets for a sold-out date.
- A venue hold expires because nobody saw it.
- Two concerts get entered on the same day at the same venue.
- Each person on the team hears about it through a different channel.
The idea: one place for every date, as easy to use as writing a message.
02The proposal
A dashboard to decide, and an assistant so you don't have to open it
Backstage brings the dates together in a dashboard and adds a Telegram assistant the team writes to as they would a colleague. In the demo, the ticket changes instantly and offers the next date with tickets left.
- Every morning, what needs a decision, sorted by urgency.
- Each alert with its buttons: confirm the date, ask for more time or release it.
- Alerts reach each team by Telegram, by email or in the dashboard, according to its rules.
03What the demo shows
Add a concert, move it or sell it out in seconds
The demo can be explored in full, screen by screen, as if it were already running.
- New concert with four details: the city comes from the venue and the ticket seller from the purchase link.
- Live preview of how the ticket looks on the website.
- A calendar to drag a date to another day.
- An editable list like a spreadsheet, with batch status changes.
- Telegram assistant: new dates, sell-outs, postponements and the weekly summary.
- Configurable alerts: expiring holds, last tickets, duplicate dates and concerts with no link or photo.
04Where it stands
A proposal, not a finished project
Backstage is a demo you can click through. It runs in the browser, with no connection to any ticket seller and no real data. To put it to work, we would adapt it to how each promoter operates and connect it to their website, ticket seller and Telegram. All the artists, venues, dates and figures on these screens are invented.
